I recently purchased a black Labrador pup from British Gundogs and couldn’t be happier with the experience (and pup). There are a lot of great breeders out there, but what really set British Gundogs apart were the personal endorsements…It takes one to know one, as they say. I also appreciated the personal touch, and over the course of several emails and phone calls I found them to be very open, honest and consultative, which helped solidify things for me.
It’s still early days with our pup, and while expectations are sky high, I’m very excited and confident about his future as both a gundog and daily companion. He is incredibly intelligent and demonstrates all of the desirable behavioral traits that people look for in British Labs. His stunning good looks and charm have also made him (and me) very popular around the neighborhood! I would definitely choose British Gundogs again in the future and recommend them wholeheartedly.

Our puppy is amazing!
She is not only a beautiful example of the breed standard, but is incredibly intelligent. Although she is still clumsy like all puppies, she has obvious athletic potential and the heart of a champion. We could not be happier with the health, temperament, and appearance of our puppy. She literally stops traffic when people pull over their cars to meet her while we are out for a walk.
When we picked her up, we also got a chance to meet her mother and see her in action. From this demonstration (and others - check out their videos on YouTube)British Gundogs are very well bred and impressively trained…We are so pleased that we plan to acquire our future dogs from British Gundogs.

True To Form UKExPat, Massachusetts
I was born in the UK, where my family have long hosted shooting days and, as such, I am keenly aware of the superior characteristics of Labradors from Britain. However, I was sorely disappointed in what I was seeing being portrayed in the US as a “British Labrador”. That changed when I became familiar with British Gundog’s kennel in Florida. They are authentic both in breeding and their training methods. Their pedigrees are outstanding, really comparable with top kennels in the UK and their finished dogs would be welcome (and many have been welcome) on any estate in the UK. Their training program is also “true to form” with what one would expect back across the pond.
In my view, the trainers at British Gundogs are the only ones doing the way we do at home. This is a very pleasant development for gundog training in this country!
If you are considering a purchase of a “British Lab”, then by all means consider the training that produced such a fine lineage of gundog. The training is all part and parcel of the end product and British Gundogs is my choice for breeding and training. Highly recommended.

Finished Dog -VERY PLEASED H.LII2, New York
I have a finished dog from British Gundogs and I could not be happier with him. Like others on have said, I did alot of research before buying. Finished dogs are not cheap so I wanted to make sure I got it right. What I found was that many other British Lab kennels are selling “finished” dogs that they just import sight unseen from overseas and sell them at a markup. That’s fine I guess but doesn’t say much about the abilities of the trainer/breeder selling the dog.
British Gundogs breeds and trains finished dogs at their kennels using British training methods that I prefer. My dog performed beautifully last season and I expect he will do the same this year. And he is a pleasure in our house and in the car. Love him. Really nice people to work with too. 5 stars!

We bought Lizzie mainly for a pet, but she is really part of our Family! My husband does hunt with her a few times a year but mainly she lives with us and goes everywhere we go.

I am a professional guide and trainer. I’m chasing birds-ducks, geese, dove, quail, pheasants, grouse, snipe…pretty much anything with feathers from September til March and then training all summer in the Dakotas.
I make my living with my dogs and gear. If they aren’t the best, I won’t use them. Period.
British Gundogs are the real deal. They are the only Labs I will use and I’ve seen lots of other top names that don’t live up to the hype.
When you hunt for a living, you better have great dogs and they do. Do yourself a favor and look at whoever you want first, then see these guys. Best hunting dogs I’ve had in my 30 year career as a pro. And nice and calm on the truck and with my clients.
I can tell when a guy knows how to train a dog or not by how his dogs perform in the field (and I can tell when a guy buys a trained dog from someone else and tries to pawn it off as his own!).
These guys dogs can flat out hunt. Every one of them and I’ve seen a bunch of their dogs. Never seen one that couldn’t get the job done! That’s why I have their dogs on my truck and would never use anyone else.

Exceptional Dogs HuntMontana, Montana
As background, I am an avid bird hunter (upland and waterfowl). I’ve hunted around the US and Europe for many, many years so I consider myself fully informed on what makes a good hunting dog.
I visited numerous other kennels before focusing on British Gundogs. I found that their pedigrees and training could not be matched in the US for British Labs. For me, they are the authentic product, not a pale imitation.
I have a dog from each of their Champions Lines and Gundog Lines and both are exceptional dogs. Easy to train, fantastic hunters and most importantly for my wife, calm and wonderful companions.
I would highly recommend purchasing a dog from them. I have done extensive research on British Labs and the training methods used in the UK. In my opinion, British Gundogs provides the only real British gundog training in the US currently.
They have one trainer from Scotland and two from England, all have decades of experience.
If you are seriously considering purchasing a British Lab, you should strongly consider having your dog trained correctly with authentic British trainers, not part timers or college kids with minimal experience.

I would highly endorse this kennel. I am now on my third dog from them. I purchased a fully trained dog from them for my son’s foray into duck hunting. He is his best pal. I also purchased a lovely started female for myself she is a delight. My third purchase recently was a lovely black pup from a recent litter. This is so well socialized it is incredible. The dogs are all well cared for and happy, every dog has free group exercise every day, it was incredible to see them enjoying themselves. I would not go anywhere else in future for my dogs.

Before selecting a breeder and trainer for my British Lab, I did months and months of research. What I found was surprising.
Most of the trainers in the US were either (1) using force fetch/shock collar American methods or (2) were new trainers trying to replicate the positive British methods mainly using college kids for cheap labor but charging premium prices.
Choose British Gundogs.

I’ve been a wingshooter for over 25 years, and the labs from British Gundogs are the best. The training is excellent. Their dogs get the job done every retrieve. I can’t say enough good things about them. Hunting with a Lab from British Gundogs is an absolute pleasure!
